Biography: Nick specializes in drawing, painting (watercolor and acrylic), printmaking, ceramics, and pioneered the Dry-Acrylic Transfer process. Nick founded the Yorktown Art Lover's League (YALL) in 2023 and hosts monthly Art Events in downtown Yorktown. Nick has been teaching art for the last 20 years and has experience teaching at the college level (Purdue and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville), building and teaching art curriculum for the last 12 years in inpatient and outpatient counseling centers, teaching at community arts centers like Cornerstone Center for the Arts, and the Blackford County Arts Center, and working with clients one on one with private lessons. Nick shows paintings locally and has work in the permanent collection at SIUE and many private collections. Nick is a student of art history and of the material aspects of art, he makes many of his own art supplies and loves to invent new ways of approaching art-making. His classes encourage traditional studio techniques, experimentation, and encourage the creative approach of the individual in a friendly and supportive environment.
Nick enjoys spending time with his wife Ashlea, their dog and three cats, and playing and teaching tennis.
